Kabete Volleyball Team
I am the elected, and re-elected, chairman of the Kabete Volleyball Team, an unpaid role. We use the game to gather around 200 young people, teach them how to manage money, and keep them off drugs and alcohol.
I have brought in NHIF to help members insure their families, and under this leadership the club's pooled contributions have grown from zero to KES 40,000. A loose group became a place where young people belong.
There is no work James and weekend James. It is the same instinct: find the real problem and build the practical fix.
